Commentary
  • The Zimbabwean bowlers will need to regroup and come out firing on Day 2 if they want even a glimmer of hope to stay in the game. They gave away too many boundary-hitting deliveries, which proved costly. Tanaka Chivanga was the pick of the bowlers, claiming two wickets, while Kundai Matigimu and Wellington Masakadza got one each. Day 2 promises to be crucial, and Zimbabwe will need to make early inroads to stay in contention.   • The partnership of 184 runs between Mulder and David Bedingham (82) laid the foundation, and later Mulder and Lhuan-dre Pretorius (78) took the score to new heights with a 217-run stand for the fourth wicket.
