Barcelona have confirmed the appointment of club legend Xavi as their new manager after Ronald Koeman was sacked on Wednesday night. Koeman's fate was sealed after Barca slumped to a feeble 1-0 defeat to Rayo Vallecano, with the club announcing his departure just hours after the loss.
But they have wasted no time in announcing the Dutchman's successor, with Xavi being named the new man in the hotseat on Thursday.
The former midfielder spent 17 years at the Nou Camp as a player, winning eight La Liga titles and four Champions Leagues.
He has been in charge of Qatari side Al Sadd since 2019, but clearly could not resist the opportunity to go back to Catalonia.
