Meghan Markle has revealed a brand new recipe on As Ever and it will likely raise some eyebrows. The Duchess of Sussex took to her brand's official Instagram account on Monday evening to post a new "elevated" breakfast recipe, featuring a staple found in many of our kitchens - eggs - and a product from her own range - the crepe mix.
In pictures posted on the account, two savoury crepes appear to be folded around fried eggs, then topped with baby tomates and chopped basil. She said people can use the two ingredients, eggs and her crepe mix, plus any vegetables they can find in their fridge for what she christened the "favourite breakfast 'sandwich'".
So move aside egg toastie, make it fancy with erm, crepes? A clear, margarita glass can also be seen, filled with a light coloured drink.
Meghan captioned the post: "Crepe inspo with a savory twist! As ever Crepe Mix, a fried egg + any veggies in your fridge = a fun and elevated take on your favorite breakfast 'sandwhich'."
In a video uploaded on the brand's Instagram stories, Meghan can be seen assembling her "breakfast sandwich" by first using shredded cheese in the middle, before adding what appears to be wilted spinach and then the friend egg on top. She then folds the crepe around the sides, while for garnish, she uses chopped baby tomatoes and basil.
As Ever's crepe mix, now sold out online, is said to be inspired by the delicate crepes found in Parisian cafés.
The brand says the mix, which retails at £11 ($14) "brings a touch of everyday elegance into your home".
It states on the website: "Whether filled with fresh fruit, a drizzle of fruit spread, or something savory, it's a pantry staple we reach for again and again.
"Easy to prepare and endlessly adaptable, it's made to turn ordinary mornings (and evenings!) into something special."
Meghan's "favourite ways" to enjoy the crepes include during a "chic dinner for one or a romantic meal, filled with ham and cheese, and paired with a glass of Pinot", as an after-school snack for the children when filled with chocolate hazelnut spread, served with a glass of milk and "followed by a cozy cuddle" and a fancier take for a Sunday morning with friends or family, layering them with orange marmalade and dusting with powdered sugar and garnish with a sprig of fresh mint.
