It can be incredibly frustrating to have slow Wi-Fi, whether you're working from home or watching Netflix. Poor connection is often caused by too many people being online or issues with your router.
While most people may try resetting their router to solve the problem, experts say there are a number of other ways to speed up the internet connection. One effective method is moving your router to the middle of your house. According to experts, walls and floors can actually block Wi-Fi signals and slow down internet speeds.
By moving your router to a more central location, the signal is able to spread out more evenly. It also helps to avoid physical obstacles such as thick walls and floors.
The experts recommend making sure the router remains on the same floor as the device that you're using. For example, if you're working from home in your downstairs kitchen, do not put the router in the middle of the floor above.
Juliet Moran, fromTelephoneSystems.Cloud said, "We've all experienced slow internet, and there's nothing more annoying. We expect it to work perfectly all the time but the reality can be somewhat different.
"There are some easy fixes that are worth trying to see if you can increase speeds. Simple things like moving the router and updating the browser you use. Checking for viruses on devices is another important one. Viruses will slow down the speed of your devices."

She added: "It's always worth checking the plan you're on as well. You get the speed you pay for and if you need it to be faster, you may have to consider upgrading."
Experts also recommend limitting the amount of devices that you're using at once. The more devices that you use, the slower the internet speed typically is.
Another cause of slow connection may be that your device needs to be updated. This means that your connection isn't actually the issue, but the device itself.
