Debbie Webster (played by Sue Daveny) is out to prove that she is still a strong and successful businesswoman following her devastating dementia diagnosis in Coronation Street. Debbie was diagnosed with young-onset dementia earlier this year and originally kept it a secret from her loved ones as she came to terms with the news.
She eventually opened up to those closest to her and her honesty saved her relationship with Ronnie Bailey (Vinta Morgan), who vowed to remain by Debbie's side through it all. However, their relationship is put to the test in upcoming scenes as they disagree over purchasing No.6. The house was previously owned by Yasmeen Metcalfe (Shelley King) and has attracted several buyers, including the couple as well as Carla Connor (Alison King) and Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers).
After learning that Carla has put in an offer which has been accepted, a furious Debbie steps in and takes action. This infuriates Ronnie, who discovers Debbie has put in a "crazy" offer for the house.
He begs her to retract the offer, but Debbie refuses, reminding him that she is a successful businesswoman. Ronnie believes Debbie is desperate to purchase the property because she wants to be on hand to help her brother Kevin Webster (Michael La Vell), who was recently diagnosed with testicular cancer.
Viewers are aware that Kevin has been declared cancer-free after successful rounds of treatment, but he is continuing to lie because he's worried that Abi Webster (Sally Carman) will leave him for his brother Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard).
Racked with guilt, Kevin begs Debbie not to make any rash decisions because of him.

Speaking about her storyline, Sue explained why it is important that soap bosses chose Debbie to be diagnosed.
She said: "Yes a lot of people are saying, why give it to Debbie? She's so vibrant and she's so full of life. But I think that is where a good story lies because it's somebody that has everything, you know, and words are important to Debbie. She has a quick wit and everything is so important, money and success. And actually, she's been dealt this hand of this illness and it is going to be interesting to follow her journey.
Unfortunately, the soap has confirmed the storyline will conclude with Debbie's death, however, this won't happen until 2027.
Speaking to Lorraine, she said: 'We wanted to do the diagnosis and get that sorted and then do the journey of living with dementia... She's not going anywhere yet! I know the story is going to go on well into 2027, so Debbie's not going anywhere."
