CP Radhakrishnan is a resident of Tamil Nadu. He is currently the Governor of Maharashtra. The decision on his name was taken after intense discussion in the BJP Parliamentary Board meeting. BJP National President JP Nadda announced Radhakrishnan's name.

CP Radhakrishnan is a resident of Tamil Nadu. The decision on his name was taken after intense discussion in the BJP Parliamentary Board meeting. PM Modi was also present in this meeting. Radhakrishnan's name was approved in the presence of PM Modi.

JP Nadda said that the BJP Parliamentary Board has decided the name for the post of Vice President of NDA. We wanted to decide the name of the Vice President unanimously. CP Radhakrishnan will be our candidate for the post of Vice President. Currently, he is the Governor of Maharashtra.

CP Radhakrishnan was a two-time MP from Coimbatore

Chandrapuram Ponnuswamy Radhakrishnan i.e. CP Radhakrishnan, has been a two-time MP from Coimbatore (1998 and 1999). He was born on 20 October 1957 in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu. He has been a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and is currently the Governor of Maharashtra (from 31 July 2024 till now). Earlier, he was also the Governor of Jharkhand. He was the Governor of Jharkhand from 18 February 2023 to 30 July 2024.

President of Tamil Nadu BJP from 2003 to 2006

CP Radhakrishnan was the president of Tamil Nadu BJP from 2003 to 2006. During this time, he made a significant contribution to the expansion of the party in South India. Under his leadership, a 19,000-kilometer-long Rath Yatra was carried out, which lasted for 93 days.

During this time, he raised many issues like linking of rivers, uniform civil code, abolition of untouchability. CP Radhakrishnan is a politician who made his mark in the Sangh and BJP on the basis of his hard work and discipline. He worked on many constitutional posts, from strengthening the BJP in Tamil Nadu. His candidature for the post of Vice President is proof of his experience and leadership.

Radhakrishnan joined RSS at the age of 16

CP Radhakrishnan joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in 1973 at the age of 16. In 1974, he became a member of the Tamil Nadu state executive of Bharatiya Jana Sangh. In 1996, he was appointed secretary of the Tamil Nadu BJP. CP Radhakrishnan is also called the 'Modi' of Tamil Nadu. Assembly elections are due in Tamil Nadu next year. Before this, the BJP had made a big move by announcing his name.

Election for the post of Vice President will be held on September 9

Elections for the post of Vice President will be held on 9 September. The last date for filing nomination is 21 August. Candidature can be withdrawn till 25 August. Former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned from his post on 21 July, citing health reasons. His term was to end in August 2027, but he left his post before that.
