This cocktail advent calendar keeps the drinks flowing throughout party season

When it comes to advent calendars, most of us fall into two camps; there’s those of us who love nothing more than a traditional countdown with a chunk of chocolate each morning, whilst others love nothing more than opening each door to unbox a new beauty product. However, I’ve found a great alternative that’s not just delicious, but also makes prepping for party season that little bit easier.

The Moth Cocktail Advent Calendar has officially launched today for £79 and I got a sneak peek at it to see just how well it stacks up against other advent calendars I’ve received ahead of December. And I have to say; it’s the perfect pick if you want to keep the drinks flowing throughout party season.

The perfect countdown for those who love their cocktails, there are 24 doors with each one hiding a different pre-mixed can of cocktail favourites behind it, with cans ranging from 125ml to 200ml sizes. And these are no watered-down versions; they’re bar-strength, and pre-mixed with award winning independent spirits, making them the perfect addition to your Christmas parties.

If you're looking for something compact the Moth Cocktail Advent Calendar might not be the calendar for you, as the size is super impressive to look at (and weighs a tonne!). But it has a beautiful minimalist black and white design, and the range of cocktails inside is also great, with something for everyone - a few of my family members have already been eyeing up the ones they’re hoping to get their hands on.

There are nine different flavours of cocktails throughout the calendar, including some absolute classics like passionfruit martinis, cosmopolitans and spicy margaritas – all three of which are my favourite go-tos. Although there are some cocktails in here that aren’t my usual go-tos (looking at you negroni) the beauty of the calendar means that you can try something new without forking out at a cocktail bar. And for any you know you don’t want, they’re perfect for sharing with friends and family, or keeping them all for a big get together during the festive season.

Moth isn’t the only brand to have dropped its cocktail calendars already, with That Boutique-y Gin Company Advent Calendar now available for £59.95 at Master of Malt. At Next you can pick up the MicroBarBox Spirits and Liqueurs Advent Calendar for £128, with each door revealing a new miniature bottle of your favourite spirits, including gin, vodka, whisky, liqueur, rum and tequila.

If you prefer to stick to cocktails, Nio’s Advent Calendar is £135 and contains 24 festive-themed cocktails like snow daiquiris, Christmas margaritas and winter sidecars, as well as classic winter warmed drinks like old fashioneds and Cuban negronis. And most unusually, they come in small pouches, rather than cans or bottles, so you just need to tear open the corner of the packet and pour it straight into your glass.
