US president Donald Trump gushed over a 'radiant' and 'beautiful' Princess of Wales during his address at the US state banquet in Windsor Castle.
The American leader addressed the guests with a speech in which he praised the relationship between the US and the UK, and thanked King Charles and Queen Camilla for hosting him and First Lady Melania for a second time.
While much of Trump’s speech focused on the joint ventures between the US and the UK, he also spoke about the Princess of Wales, who was seated at his right hand side.

Early on in his address, he acknowledged Prince William, who met the Trumps when they arrived in Windsor this morning, and said: "His Majesty has also raised a remarkable son in His Royal Highness, the Prince of Wales. Really amazing. I've gotten to know you and you will have unbelievable success in the future.”

President Trump then turned his attention to Princess Kate and said: “Melania and I are delighted to visit again with Prince William and to see Her Royal Highness Princess Catherine, so radiant and so healthy, so beautiful. It's really a great honour, thank you.”
Trump made a point of referencing the princess, who announced at the start of the year that she was in remission from cancer. Earlier in the day, Mr Trump appeared to tell future queen “You’re so beautiful, so beautiful” as she greeted him and the First Lady at Victoria House with the Prince of Wales at the start of the historic state visit.
At the end of his address, Trump awkwardly alluded to Kate being the Queen, while Camilla sat opposite the president. Wrapping up his speech, he said: “I offer toast to one of the great friendships, to two great countries, and to His Majesty, King Charles III, a very, very special man and also a very, very special queen,” looking to Kate as he spoke.
Kate wore a couture creation by British designer Phillipa Lepley, with a striking full-length, champagne gold hand-embroidered Chantilly lace evening coat featuring a regal-looking high collar over a silk crepe gown.
The Princess of Wales was also wearing the Royal Family Order of King Charles III, Royal Family Order of Elizabeth II, Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order and GCVO Star and Sash.
