Market cap crosses Rs 12,000 croreWith this, in less than two years, it has grown from a small company to a giant with a market cap of ₹12,659.69 crore. Last Tuesday, its shares rose 2% to close at ₹9,478. Rumors circulated that renowned sportsperson Sachin Tendulkar had purchased shares in the company, leading to a rush among investors. Ultimately, the company had to clarify that Sachin had not placed any bets on its shares.
Shares held in the ESM frameworkFollowing this rapid rise in the company's shares, the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) alerted investors, stating that the significant increase in RRP's shares does not align with the company's financial fundamentals. The BSE warned that investors should exercise greater caution when betting on the stock. To prevent speculative activity, the exchange has placed RRP Semiconductor's shares under the Enhanced Surveillance Measures (ESM) framework.
What happens ESM Framework?This is a mechanism designed to monitor stocks that experience rapid fluctuations. Under the ESM, stocks will now trade under trade-for-trade settlement, where intraday trading is not permitted. Furthermore, the daily price band has been set at 2 percent.
