Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A property dispute took a dramatic turn in Danish Kunj Colony on Friday when over 40 people, allegedly accompanied by a bulldozer machine, arrived at the residence of IAS officer Manjusha Rai, Deputy Secretary in the Education Department, and began demolishing parts of her house.
The officer claimed the boundary wall and CCTV cameras were broken, and despite informing the police, no action was taken.
Rai told media persons that the issue pertains to House No. 595, which was purchased by her husband Vikrant Praveen Rai in December 2010 through a Rs. 41 lakh agreement.

Rai stated that they have been living in the house since 2011 and even constructed two additional rooms with the seller's verbal consent.
However, in March 2025, the property was reportedly transferred by Additional Tehsildar Kolar to Ridit Arora (formerly Saeed Farid Ahmed), who sold it to Mona Bateja on June 10. Rai claimed they were unaware of the registry and discovered the transaction only after receiving threats and witnessing demolition on Friday.
She added that the matter is currently under litigation in the SDM and Revenue courts, with objections filed over the transfer. Despite this, the opposite party resorted to forceful action.
"No cooperation is being received from the police. If it's a property issue, let the civil court decide. Why this hooliganism?" Rai said, urging authorities to intervene.
Administrative officials visited the site briefly but refrained from commenting on the matter. Rai has submitted complaints to senior officers, calling for justice and protection.
