The trailer for Ajay Devgan and R Madhavan’s De De Pyaar De 2 was just released and if age gap romances aren’t for you, then you’d want to take a step back. However, if you’re welcoming a comedy-filmed family drama, this film is just for you. Starring Rakul Preet Singh and Tabu alongside the two male leads, the sequel picks up right where things left off.
This also marked the reunion of Madhavan and Devgn after the spine-chilling Shaitaan. Although they’ve worked in various films together, this sequel in particular offered something to the 3 Idiots actor that was a first for his acting career, playing a father.

During the trailer launch, R. Madhavan opened about playing a father in Bollywood and, most importantly, playing the father-in-law of a 52-year-old man. De De Pyaar De 2 is a follow-up story on Ajay Devgn and Rakul Preet Singh’s characters’ romance.
When asked about how it was to take on the role of Ayesha’s father, he admitted that he was extremely nervous. “I have never done a father’s role before and competing with Ajay, I was very nervous,” he stated during the launch.
Madhavan admitted that the opportunity of playing the role of a father was both fresh and welcoming. Although the premise of the film also gave him the opportunity to look at it in a much different manner, the actor is essentially playing a father-in-law to a man who was almost his own age. That was a first for him.

R Madhavan elaborated during the launch that in his experience as an actor, he has seen people get all-consumed by their roles. He understands that it can be a demanding and busy profession. However, Ajay Devgn made time for everyone.
“I have seen other actors who are so busy when they come to the set, but Ajay sir is always present on the set and dedicated. We have always felt connected,” Madhavan said.
According to the Aap Jaisa Koi actor, Devgn made the entire set feel connected with his presence. He was always present and was up to the task no matter what. This created the kind of environment that was positive to work in and motivated others to put in even more effort.
