NEET UG Counselling 2025: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has started the counselling registration process of NEET UG 2025 today, July 21, for admission to MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing. Registrations for Round-1 counselling can be done from July 21 to July 28. NEET UG 2025 qualified candidates can register themselves by visiting the official website mcc.nic.in.

This counselling will be conducted in a total of four phases (Round 1, 2, 3, and Stray Vacancy). MCC also conducts admissions to 15% All India Quota seats as well as 100% seats of AMU, BHU, JMI, and ESIC through this counselling.

Round 1 seat allotment will be declared on July 31

MCC will provide online links for candidates to enter their choice of courses and colleges from July 22 to July 28. Candidates will have to fill out their medical courses and preferred colleges on the basis of preference. The choice filling process will begin on July 28 at 4 pm and continue till 11:55 pm. NEET UG Round 1 seat allotment will be declared by MCC on July 31 based on the preferences filled by the candidates.

Students are advised to upload clear and original copies only while scanning the documents. If fake or incomplete documents are found, they will not be allowed to participate in the counseling.

There will be three rounds in counseling and one stray vacancy round

Through NEET counselling, MCC will provide admission to 15% AIQ seats of states, 100% MBBS, BDS seats of BHU, 100% MBBS seats of AIIMS institutes, JIPMER (Puducherry/Karaikal), and other participating institutes.

The counselling process will include registration, fee payment, choice filling and locking, seat allotment process, declaration of seat allotment result, and reporting. Students will be allotted seats based on their NEET UG 2025 rank, NEET UG cut-off 2025, availability of seats, and preferences filled by the candidates.

More than 1 lakh 18 thousand medical seats are available in the country

A total of 1,18,190 seats are available for MBBS in 780 medical colleges in India. According to NMC, the body that monitors medical education, medical professionals, institutions, and research, the highest number of MBBS seats is in Karnataka, where 12,545 seats are available. It is followed by Uttar Pradesh with 12,475 seats. Tamil Nadu has 12,050 and Maharashtra has 11,846 MBBS seats. Telangana has 9,040, Gujarat has 7,250, Andhra Pradesh has 6,785, Rajasthan has 6,476, West Bengal has 5,676, Madhya Pradesh has 5,200 and Kerala has 4,905 seats.

In other states, Bihar has 2,995, Odisha has 2,725, Chhattisgarh has 2,255, Haryana has 2,185, Punjab has 1,850, Puducherry has 1,830, Assam has 1,650, Delhi has 1,497 and Uttarakhand has 1,400 MBBS seats.

Registration Fee
Candidates have to pay a non-refundable fee and a refundable security amount during registration. For 15% All India Quota (AIQ) in central universities, general and EWS category candidates have to pay Rs 1,000, while SC, ST, OBC and differently-abled candidates have to pay Rs 500 as registration fee.

The refundable security amount is Rs 10,000 for general and EWS candidates, while candidates from other categories have to deposit Rs 5,000. The registration fee for deemed universities is fixed at Rs 5,000. Apart from this, applicants will also have to deposit a refundable security amount of Rs 2 lakh at the time of registration.
